How does OhChimp connect to New Relic?
With a read-only New Relic User API key (NRAK-...). OhChimp queries the NerdGraph GraphQL endpoint for your region (US or EU) to read ingest volume by source and full-platform seat counts. It reads usage and account metadata only and never stores your application data, telemetry contents, or secrets.
Does OhChimp need write access or see my telemetry data?
No. OhChimp uses a read-only User API key and reads aggregated usage figures: gigabytes ingested per source from NrConsumption and user counts from userManagement. It never reads or stores the contents of your traces, logs, metrics, or secrets.
What New Relic costs can OhChimp actually reduce?
The two axes of a New Relic bill. On data ingest, OhChimp ranks your top ingest sources by gigabytes, estimates the billed overage above the 100 GB free tier, and points you at drop rules and lower sampling on the high-volume sources. On seats, it counts your full-platform (billed) users and flags whether occasional ones could move to the free Basic or Core tier.
Who applies the changes, and can they be rolled back?
You do. Each fix is a reviewable plan with a confidence score, a risk level, and rollback steps. Nothing changes until you click apply, and you are always the one who clicks.
How are the savings verified, and how is OhChimp priced?
Against your real New Relic bill. A plan is marked VERIFIED only after 7 or more days, a drop of at least 10%, and 3 consecutive positive checks. Otherwise it stays flagged "not implemented."
